I am tall but when a visiting basketball team is in town I am oh so short. There are definite problems with being too tall which I do not think go hand in hand with being just short. Someone who is extremely tall has joint problems later in life that are due to the extra height/weight distribution that a normal short person will not face in his or her lifetime. So being short may have it's advantages. That cute girl of five foot two with eyes of blue may not think she is in contention against the tall blonde of six foot two, but when the blonde is 52 things start to change. I will say cute and short is best these days, cause as your health decays being tall just fades.

Being tall has more options, one could be model, for example. Plus, tall people tend to make more money and be more successful in business. That is, every inch above average equals higher pay.

The above applies to both sexes. However, I am below average, 5'2.5" and the average woman is 5'4". Britney Spears is 5'4" but Jessica Simpson is 5'2", by the way. And of course, one's success may not necessarily always be dependent on height.

With no disrespect intended to those with smaller stature, if given the choice, I would want to be proportionally tall. (Not a rail-thin tail person.) The world, and society as a whole, seems to notice and appreciate tall people. Tall people are more imposing, they tend to be more athletic, and most tall people seem at ease with life.

On the other hand, most people have met their fair share of short people, who are out of shape, who seem disgruntled, and have the "short man's complex" of behavioral problems. The short man (especially) is a person who is more likely to have issues -- from a purely non-scientific perspective.

Enjoy.

Since being short kept me from being a flight attendant and gaining 10 pounds looks like 20 on my short self....I'd rather be tall.

I'm rather tall so I could say I'm much contented with my height.
