The purpose is to do our best, make others happy and smile, contribute to tomorrow by doing the little extra that is not asked of us, but we do because that is our purpose. We are energy harnessed and to be the most creative we can with that energy while on this Earth is our purpose. Give to those who come after us, something positive.

It depends on how you think we got to BE here on earth. If we are here by chance and accident, then purpose is irrelevant except for any purpose you may assign to your own existance, e.g. pleasure, survival, etc.
If you believe we were created, then there is a reason, although perhaps unfathomable. If that's the case, then we either have significance to a creator, or we don't. That's what you've got to research and figure out to your own satisfaction, because no one can tell you that to your satisfaction. You've got to figure it out based on the evidence that will satisfy your doubts in any one or two directions.

To go and populate the earth and have domain
over all animals on earth was read to me as a child, and that seems to be as good a reason as any!

There is a theory which states that if ever anybody discovers exactly what the Universe is for and why it is here, it will instantly disappear and be replaced by something even more bizarre and inexplicable. There is another theory which states that this has already happened.

God puts us here to be cleansed from our sin that prevails in our spiritual being. We have some part to play in this by having a personal desire to be cleansed. If we desire not to be cleansed or think we do not need this then we are doomed to eternal destruction.

To live the gift of life. "Take a vacation of a life time." What ever you want to do. But hopefully not loose our job when we go home and go to hell. Where you can never take another vacation again.
