In one reply they tell you underseal your car please don't do this as this will seal any holes that let the water out.In the first place get a friend to spray water over the car and you stay inside looking for leaks around the doors Windows and joins in the body work,if its been welded up before it could have distorted the panels and if they did not seal this with a good soft sealant it could come from that.If you want to protect your car use something like waxoil which seals your car from water but is flexible not like [underseal going hard and acts like a wet blanket] holding water next to the steel body and rusting faster.
Have been welding cars for over 30 years.

Next time you get the car reasonably dry, lift any extra mats and spread some news papers on the floor especially around the pedals area, and up under the dashboard, and also in the boot floor, check the newspapers for water after the next time it rains or after driving in the wet. Knowing where the water is getting in is 99% of the problem solved.
