My fiance is currently taking birth control, I am not 100% what kind I know its pills though, and it has changed her outlook on life drastically. She is not as nearly moody as she was before, and at the sametime she has a better outlook on life, whereas before she seemed mildly depressed. Can birth control serve as an anti-depressant?

Good question with a very easy answer - Birth Control pills have hormones in them. Prior to taking the birth control pills, your fiance's hormones were probably a little out of whack. Getting on the birth control pills has probably regulated her hormones.

But, to be on the safe side, you should encourage your fiance to see her gynecologist and have her hormone levels tested - just to make sure that everything is balanced and okay.

If prior to taking the birth control, she was experiencing true symptoms of depression (please check out the link below), she may need to see a mental health counselor - to make sure there aren't any underlying conditions that could put her at risk.

I applaud you for taking an active interest in your fiance's health and well being. I wish you both the best of luck and I hope this information helps!

Basically what is happening is due to the pill leveling out her hormone levels. Less fluctuation means she is more even tempered. Without the fluctuation she also gets better sleep which leads to a better outlook on life. It is all connected.

I guess it is possible, probably very possible.
Birth control pills make your body think it's pregnant by use of a hormone which is a type of drug.
I remember when I was pregnant -- I FELT MARVELOUS !!! I was never so happy or joyous. I felt wonderful!!! So, I imagine the 'pill' could have that same effect.
Go to WEB-MD in your search engine and see if you can find more on it !!!! (Lucky girl, lucky you !!!)

i'd bypass with the IUD if I were you. I had the Mirena IUD for 3 years, and performance those days had it bumped off to attempt for infant huge form 2. The IUD replaced into painless to get in, I had it put in at my 6 week examine up after my daughter replaced into born. that's secure to apply if you're nursing your newborn, and it lasts for 5 years!!! Plus you do not ought to agonize about pills or some thing else. the in undemanding words imagine i did not know after I were given the Mirena is it truly is can take awhile on your menstral cycles to go back to regularly occurring after having the IUD bumped off. I had mine bumped off in December 2008, and in the previous couple months my cycles have ultimately back to regularly occurring, except that, I fantastically recommend the IUD!
