I had a hard time taking hormonal BC so I got the copper-T 5 years ago and have not had any known pregnancies or problems.

I am also very active and have not had any problems. You should not have ainful periods unless there is something wrong.

As long as you continue your regular exams your Doc will continue to check the IUD and if it doesn't work well for you i is easy to remove. They can easily check it with a regular ultrasound machine.
