I dont know Roe vs Wade. I dont live in the US. But it seems a very touchy subject with alot of people. I was just asking an honest opinion whether it be by politics or by morals. Everyone is entitled to their opinion regardless

Butterfly...why so angry? I was mearly asking a point of opinion. If you didnt like the the question then you should not have answered it. No it is not up to me, but if people open up and want to speak their point of view then it is up to them. Same as you. If i offended fine - but HELLO it is not legal in every country or state and that is why I ask. So pardon your narrowmindedness I was asking the whole population. Not just your country or state so thumbs down to you.

Butterfly....this question was asked under the "Australian" heading. I didnt come into a US section. Regretfully people in each country under a category does not stop it from floating into other international yahoo sources. So despite this i just respect it that i will get answers from EVERY country and not just one.

Blue girl, if it shouldn't be used for birth control, why did you have two abortions? Less than 1% of the abortions in the U.S. have anything to do with rape or incest.

Butter, if the baby is that horribly deformed, chances are they will not survive gestation. If they do, it is a viable life. People don't abort children with health problems to help the child. They abort children with health problems to get themselves off the hook.

I'm a father of three. I was there for every ultra sound-including the ones where she and I were both sobbing and begging God for a miracle. I was there in the delivery room all three times-including when the pediatrician was calling for a crash cart and starting to panic because my son didn't breathe for four minutes. (By the way we were told to abort him and his health problems too. But, he's now a happy, healthy, and very intelligent 5 year old).

Anyone who has ever watched an ultra sound knows that is a baby, not a choice. There's not a woman in this world who's right to be irresponsible and promiscuous supersedes the right of a human child to live.

I'm a little torn on the subject myself. I really don't beleive in it, however, if I was raped or somthing like that, my whole perspective would change. So I think it is good that a female has a choice, but I also think that most women use it as a form of birth control.
I wish it could be better regulated in the states where it is legal. Such as, you can only have an abortion if you were raped, and you have to have some kind of doctors proof, such as reporting the rape to the police and a having a doctors note stating that there are signs of forcible sexual contact.
I do think that the morning after pill being more readily available will cut down the abortion rate once everyone is educated on the matter. However, I work in a pharmacy and see many of the same young girls coming in month after month to get this pill because they are being careless in not using protection. I know this, because we counsel them when they purchase the pill.
I am 8 months pregnant right now. I got an ultrasound 1 month from the day I missed my first period, and too my suprise a little tiny body had already formed inside of me. I couldn't beleive it and immediatly thought, "oh my God, how can people abort when they are two or three months pregnant".. This life has already formed. So this is why I am against it now.

There really should be no debate- but unfortunately there is. Abortion is 100% wrong- it takes the life of a baby. Life begins at conception- the heart starts to beat at 3 weeks after conception- this is before the woman even knows she is pregnant, most of the time. At 5-6 weeks the brain waves are starting to function. Besides the obvious- there are many risks to the woman. The pro-choice or should I say pro nabortion crowd says that a woman should be able to do whatever she desires with her body. First of all the baby is a separate body- granted he/she nourishes and lives off the mother for 9 months because he or she cannot feed her or himself. Think about this though- when this child is born- they still cannot take care of themselves. A child is not fully developed physically until about 18 yrs of age- is it is murder if we would "choose" to kill a born child. Also there are risks to the woman,- bleeding excessively- perforated uterus- miscarriages later, sometimes abortions fail and you have to have other surgery. Infections, etc. Also you will never forget taking the life of your child- guilt shame- anniversary remembrance. I am a counselor at a preg. help clinic and I just counseled a young woman who had an abortion a yr ago to the day we talked- and she cannot forget what she did. So abortion is wrong- morally, and spiritually. The political arena has made it legal in the USA- but legal does not always mean it is right.

I am against abortion by choice. I don't think we, women, can choose what to do because it is not your body we are talking about. The fetus is not part of your body - it is a completely separate entity with its own body and it's own life and once you get it out of your body before it is ready to live, one person has died. I am against the reasoning that the embryo or fetus is not a human being - what is it then, a cow, a crocodile, a monkey...? To that I answer - wait 9 months and you will see what comes out of your uterus - a human being or something else. I would accept abortion on medical reasons only - when it is proven that the baby is completely deformed and has no chance to survive outside of the mother's womb. Still some mothers choose to wait 9 months, give birth and see their baby die shortly after that. I admire them because I don't know if I would have the courage to do that. Or when both mother and baby are going to die if baby is not aborted - like a pregnancy outside the uterus.

a million) Is abortion a religious/ moral issue in undemanding words? that's an ethical issue/own decision- i know an atheist who's adverse to it. in my view, i'm professional decision. 2) Do you help abortions that positioned the mummy in chance of lack of life? I help abortion in all circumstances that the female has made the own decision (until eventually that's too overdue time period). 3) may you help an abortion that could want to outcome in a baby born with a ailment that could nicely be deadly? once back, if the female made the alternative for an abortion, then it truly is her correct, no count number the excuses in the back of it. 4) may a ban on abortions ward off abortions? a touch- yet more beneficial human beings will bypass to back alley abortionists, this can be truly risky, and could likely to motel in the shortcoming of life of the mummy and infant. 5) might want to making abortion unlawful provide the state the potential to mandate abortions in the journey that they so chosen? that's the female's body, no longer the governments. 6) might want to the authorities receive authority to confirm even if a woman will carry her being pregnant to time period? How dare they settle on for her?! in the journey that they want to fund her to save the youngster, and then undertake it later on then by ability of all ability. yet they don't. human beings bypass on and on about how abortion is inaccurate, yet what number undesirable little ones have they bothered to undertake? If no individual had an abortion, we may stay in an truly overpopulated international, all countries may must have a "one infant in line with relatives" coverage, and they volume of youthful ones living on the streets may be brilliant.

I am pro choice. That means I am for whatever choice the woman makes concerning HER body and HER pregnancy, I am of the opinion that no one else has the right to make that deciscion for anyone else and I don't think anyone else has the right to judge another person based on their choices. There are as many reasons to abort as there are women who do so and just as many reasons to gestate a pregnancy to term as there are women who do so. I wonder how many people know that Jeffrey Dahmer's mother wanted to abort him...but it wasn't legal back then and there were very few doctors who would do this type of surgery...so Jeffrey Dahmer was born...and countless others died by his hand...brutally...
As for the poster just above me...you want to have a say in the matter...then YOU get pregnant, YOU gestate to term with all the stresses, aches, swollen ankles, morning sickness etc. and YOU give birth naturally then. The ONLY thing that is your's about the pregnancy is the fact that you contributed the sperm to create it and it's getting to where women won't need men for that either...How does it feel to be in the midsts of becoming obsolete?

I am 100% against abortion. Abortion is murder in my book. The fetus is alive.. it has a heartbeat and is living, it just feeds off of the mother while it grows. It is not a thing, it is a person, regardless of age. No child asked to be brought into this world, but EVERY child deserves a chance. What would happen if our parents never gave us a chance? And that comment about how Butterfly would abort if there was something wrong with the baby, you are really messed up, sorry. It doesnt matter what is wrong with your child. What doesnt kill you makes you stronger. It seem to me like you are just being lazy and wouldnt want to take care of a child with special needs. Thats just terrible. And the baby will not suffer if he has parents who love him enough to sacrifice to take care of him. I dont understand why people would allow themselves to get pregnant just to get an abortion. If you dont want a baby: 1)dont have sex or 2) make sure that you are protected in more than one ways. People make me sick. Sorry, thats jsut how I feel. Everyone is entitled to their opinion.

the first person that answered your question is really stupid. A fetus IS a living breathing eating baby. Even when its the size of a pen point its alive and eats to grow bigger. I think that everyone has the right to chose what is best for themselves. I don't think its OK for girls to use abortion as a form of birth control. But for those that do we cant stop them because then it will affect all the others that really do need it. Its a hard subject! Many ppl feel strongly against and for this. One problem I do have...the activists that are against abortions, they go and bomb abortion clinics killing workers to stop the killing of babies???But they will kill to get a point across? I am so glad that in this country we have the right to choose and decide whats best for ourselves. Something my dad said the other day...women have the right to terminate the pregnancy but if a man does not want the baby he still has to pay for child support? I feel that if the man did not want the baby he should have not had sex but then it comes back to should the lady should not have had sex also...its hard. But I think we should have the right to do what we want with our bodies and have the choice to conrol our future. I would never look down on someone who had one...Its not right to judge a person you dont know

whoo allot of people have a strong opinion on this one! well heres what i think- in this day and society it is legal. i think it entirely depends on the situation at hand. there are so many questions to think about when actually deciding to have an abortion, and i know I'm going through it. i have just found out that i am pregnant and I'm not in a stable relationship, I'm 19 and I'm in my 3rd yr at uni in the UK. i have soo many things to think about this pregnancy and im not sure what i am going to do about it. i think there is no right or wrong. no one will ever agree on this subject matter i just think people need to be more aware and understanding that life isn't straight forward, having a baby isn't as easy as u think, every pregnancy is different sometimes its meant to be and sometimes its not.

Since it is legal, I am glad it is offered to the poor/uneducated affordably. It would be bad for society if abortions were only carried out by the intelligent (although we are still going in the direction of the intelligent/wealthier have fewer and fewer children per capita than the poor/uneducated).

I was against it when I thought it was mostly the people that are better off having abortions. Statistics show that abortion is responsible for much of the crime rate decrease of the '90s.
