No, there's no such thing as Satan. Nor is there a God on the other side of the equation. This is not something to be afraid of, so embrace it. You are responsible for your own life and have no need to worship or fear anything "higher". Praying to a God is only as effective as praying to a Sarah Lee cheesecake, but the advantage of the latter is that you can eat it afterwards.

If you believe the bible then if Satan did exist (which he doesn't) he would be crawling around the earth on his belly for the rest of his days. Probably in an alley somewhere. And he doesn't have legs, so you could probably outrun him :)

The Bible says Satan is the prince over the power of the air. Right now we live in a fallen world. Jesus is going to come back to the planet to initiate His Kingdom. He is bringing heaven down and the two will joined as one. For now, though, Satan does have access to those who sin. When we disobey God's Word, Satan has legal access to influence our thinking. If we don't give him permission by sinning, he cannot have access to our minds or emotions. However, as fallen beings ourselves, without accepting God's nature that is offered to us through the death of Jesus, we have a hard time thinking righteously, even apart from Satan influencing us.

I believe that both good and evil exists in this world. I think that the reason why the evil has a stronger influence is due to the fact that we give more attention to it. People like attention so they choose what is evil (or what is wrong). Just check out the news--which ones are being put in the headlines? Who among the stars (in entertainment) are being talked about?

If you believe there's a Satan you must also believe there's God and that God is omniscient (he knows all) and omnipotent (he's all-powerful). Consequently, if God knows it all and is all-powerful, why can Satan have a strong influence over anyone without God knowing about it and doing something to negate his influence?

And if you believe there's so much evil in this world and it's gone unchecked, must you then be wondering about the omniscience and omnipotence of the Almighty?

I believe that Satan is all the negativity that the human mind is capable of, which has been given an external form in order to distance it from the real source of that negativity - that is: us, the human race.

Yes, you are right, the concept of Satan plays a big role in our thinking: the good guys (us!) on the side of god - the bad guys (them!) on the side of the devil. "I can't be held responsible, the devil led me into temptation...", etc. etc. It is easier to put the blame outside of oneself.

Yes, and Satan is no excuse. Many people think believers have a mind set of "the devil -made- me do it" as if he were an external excuse available for one to self-destruct backed by a lame line of lip service. He lures people into becoming excusers in other words they to have given into temptation. It doesn't work that way Satan can't make even a child past a certain age do anything we have free will. That concept mirrors secular belief and verbally cancels out the fact of what it means to give in to temptation fooling people into believing there is no such thing as self-destruction. In fact, I believe dabbling in secularism leads people to believe they have no free will and creates codependency on a system that Satan thoroughly enjoys. After all, if this concept is adopted one makes the choice to agree they are helpless- allows people to convince them they were born this way, are unable to be without a drug to balance them for the rest of their life or make changes that result in healthy balance within their lives. Yes, babies want to beer in their bottles and no children need discipline. There is no such thing as out with the old man in with the new with this going on...luring a person to stay stuck and dependent. I've seen this occur in the lives of those I love and it's sad. Conveniently that same system claims they have nothing to do with their own greedy manipulative leadership skills which does disgust me as it's totally without love and respect for people.

Talking Satan out of existence is the same as attempting to talk God out of existence which is how Satan(former name Lucifer) came amongst us in the first place. His influence is the "curse" and some people do not welcome his influence into their lives or choose to battle his deceitful lure tooth and nail because the choice can ruin their God given life. By separate I don't mean we can control his existance in this world nor do I mean human beings have the power to be perfect but at least I know God is a forgiving when and if we repent. I do understand why God hates contemplation most of all. God is our concience and knows our soul...if one feels no remorse - no need to change starting with repentance, finding a solution and moving towards change - he or she has attempted to kick God to the curb. Satan did that....there were no excuses available to him because he acted upon destroying our loving God....he's miserable and will be miserable for all of eternity by choice. God represents love and Satan didn't get love conquers all he was jealous of God's love.

I personally think that you choose what you want to do. I dont belive in satan... and I dont think he has made a HUGE impact.

I think people who belive in him do change but in our generation the belive of satan and god is lowering and people arnt going to not do something because satan will get them.
I think religion is going to be wiped out well here any in the next couple of geneerations.
