If you do not show up looking like you are at a real interview for a real job, it will count against you.
When I was a headhunter, if an applicant showed up dressed in anything less than a business suit, they got major points off their ratings. (Unless they were working and left work to meet with me AND they explained it first thing).
When using recruiters, keep in mind they put their own reputation on the line when they send you out to interview. If you don't prove to the recruiter that you are the best of the best it is hard to get them to work for you.
Wear exactly what you would wear at a real interview. Always dress conservatively and for the next level up in your career.
You can never recover from being underdressed, you can always recover from being overdressed.
Good luck

Look as smart as you can. Dress up not down. Treat the occasion as you would a job interview. What the consultant tells the Company about you matters a great deal. I have been a recruitment consultant

smart casual is good - it is still a kind of job interview so just look tidy and well groomed. Smart jeans for example and smart casual top is good.

oh muh dayum Beaver™ no longer in basic terms could desire to you no longer take attractiveness information from that Cretan, you may desire to call the Black Lagoon and tell them that their "Creature" is lacking .... then kindly tip them off to the Walgreen's area in question. I by no skill understand such issues, being a woman you may think of that each and all the girls of our species might a minimum of CARE to incredibly-up with the basics ... yet in specific circumstances i stay fully surprised at loss of hygiene and undemanding grooming by way of a lot of girls human beings that i come upon. all of us have our tough days, yet good GOD some days i opt for to assert "Shave it or braid it sister, i'm 2 seconds from taking a backyard-mower to Yo Face!" *sighs* I attempt to no longer choose, yet good grief ... it takes all types, would not it? xoxo ?
