I think sex offender punishment should look at the offender and their crimes on a case basis..much like criminals with mental illnesses....habitual criminals should not be released..and even one time offenders should be evaluated for their ability to exist in society...the mutual consenting highschool sweethearts who get caught, or the drunk college frat student who was streaking need not be treated the same as a stranger who was attempting to entice a grade school age child for some sick demented purpose. Such an attempt should have the person put in jail for life. Child predators should never leave prison..and should die there.

Yes, the laws should be tougher, but the laws need to be cleaned up so offences are more clearly defined. Certain sex crimes are only defined by the victims fealings towards an advance, and that's rediculous.
