I am mad as all get out. GM has decided to stop making the Monte Carlo. I have a 2007 SS with the rear wheel drive. I buy a new one yearly. I love these cars. Sometimes I would love to kick this company. If I wanted an Impala I would buy one, but I don't like it. If I wanted a little Malibu I would get one of those, too small. How is it they make a car that anyone can fit into then stop making them for these tiny little cars? Do they think that all people are 5'5? I am 5'11 and I need leg room. These little cars just don't work for me. Honestly, I wish GM would just close their doors. I am thinking they are just stupid. They make some of the dumbest and biggest mistakes. Like CEO's getting million dollar bonuses while the company is in trouble. They are talking of bringing back the El Camino. Eww! Whats up with that? Anyone think they will bring back the Monte like the Camero? Or will it take GM loosing more customers over it or will customers compaining enough to bring it back?

I work for a Chevrolet dealer. The Monte, while a great car, just doesn't sell well and has become a liability for both GM and its dealers. As for CEO bonuses, for the last two years, Rick Wagonner has been paid...ready?....$1 per year.

well first of all I know for a fact that you do not have a 2007 monte SS with rear wheel drive.... the reason I know is cause I'm one of the guys that builds it.... and our plant is not equipped to build rear wheel drive... not until we start the camaro..... 2nd... the Monte Carlo SS is only a 2 door version of the Impala SS (mechanically identical) .. again cause I'm one of the guys that build it....

I do appreciate your loyalty to the M/C, and am also saddened by the cancellation.. however, you will be much more forgiving once you see what GM will be coming out with...

Monte Carlos are front wheel drive so unless you have a 1988(or older) monte carlo which was the last year for rear wheel drive then you don't have a rear wheel drive--guess your not as dedicated to the monte carlo as you claim considering you don't know what you are talking about!

Well it's all about sales my friend and the Monte just isn't selling as well as others so time to pull the plug. GM makes many other fine cars so I don't see why you couldn't find another suitable one.

Yea, I can see where you are coming from, but like the first guy said. It has to do with sales. Do what I did and quite by accident!! My brother sold me his Ford Explorer super cheap as he is in the bucks. Anyway, after driving it, I would never go back to a car again. I am 5'11" and it is SO EASY to get in and out. Plus on summer days, I am able to look down on the cars with women with the A/C on. lol Get my drift.
