I agree. They get let off too easily, as if 5 years is enough to punish them for mentally scarring a poor kid.

A few years ago in Georgia there was a black male age 19 that was dating a white female age 17. Daddy didn't like it. The boy says it was consensual. The girl said it was until her daddy got involved and then she decided she was raped.
Either way, it was statutory rape of a minor. In other words, the 19 year old was now a sex offender that "raped" a child in the eyes of the law. He lost a college scholarship to play football, went to prison for 10 years and will spend the rest of his life on a registry as a child predator/sex offender.
Should he be in jail longer? Should he have his testicles surgically removed? If you think this case is uncommon, think again. People are being falsely accused of sexual assault everyday. Now, if they have sex with a child (I mean a legitimate child, not a horny teenage girl) they deserve to be punished for what they take away. But, I'm not in favor of any type of mandatory law to come down on a particular group of people when some of them maybe caught up on technicalities.

Male sex offenders should have their Penis and Testicles removed...without being given anything for pain. Female sex offenders should have their Vagina sewn closed just as they do in some middle eastern countries (albeit, for other reasons). Both should then serve a minimum of 25 years without parole. Tough sentence? Yes. But remember, the victim, must live with the trauma forever. As far as Rapists? They should simple be executed in a public place, with the victim choosing how the rapist should die. Any sex offender or rapist viewing the punishment will definitely think twice before committing this crime. Don't get me started on other crimes, as I would be severely tough on them as well. Like cutting off a hand for theft like they do in the Middle East. (NO, they would not be allowed disability).

I agree also other than the Fine I cant see who making them pay a fine will deter them in anyway. Longer sentences would be nice or shipped to some desolate island someplace would be nice also.

Yes, for that type of sexually compulsive perpetrator though- sometimes the penalty IS to take libido squashing drugs. So you are not far off.And I suspect corporal punishment will eventually morph into something much more harsh like you are describing. Here Ye Here Ye

I think this is one question that will receive a general consensus - YES
Penhaed72 - I think we are talking about people who go after young children and proven cases of rape where there is no doubt. Obviously this is the same as the capital punishment debate, it should be 100% proven without any doubt whatsoever.

Laws against sex offenders must be amended to make the penalties more grave in order to protect crimes against minors.

I take it you mean adults who commit offences against children.
The best sentence in these cases is a quick bullet in the back of the head.
They will never do it again.
