i would most probably say that it is your keyboard settings.
1) goto Control Panel
2) goto Regional and Language Options
3) goto Languages tab > select details
4) a new box should appear 'Text Services and Input Languages'
5) click Add
6) select Input Language as English (United States)
7) confirm that the checkbox for Keyboard Layout/IME is greyed out and that the listbox below it shows US.
8) click OK
9) remove your previous layout by selecting it and clicking Remove. (you do this to avoid more than one language option specified within your computer operating system)
your keyboard should now display correctly. if it still does not, then your keyboard is of a different make and therefore you need to experiment around with the different layouts. almost 98% of the world uses the QWERTY US layout, so i should predict no problems already unless you specifically changed the keyboard to dvorak or some other funny layout.

Your keyboard is desirous to a US configuration. If this has purely began happenning, seem interior the commencing up Bar/kit Tray for an icon that declares 'EN'. click in this and decide English (uk). whether that's a sparkling pc or that's continuously been this form, bypass to alter Panel and be sure your interior of sight settings are waiting to English uk

An easier way to change your keyboard language is to press Shift+Alt. It cycles trough the available installed languages.

it will be the settings on your latop
Goto the control panel - and look for the regional and language settings - you will need to select region that you want
(tip delete the region that is causing this problem or everytime you restart it will default to the original)

Sounds like it changed into a DVORAK setup. Go to accessibility options to change.
