Yes! You should be his friend. You have nothing to fear about getting infected by touching, breathing, etc. In fact, there is scientific evidence to support that even sexual contact is very low risk. The best thing you can do as a friend is to learn more about how the HIV/AIDS hypothesis is being abused, and possibly save your friends life from taking toxic drugs prescribed by idiot doctors...

AIDS can't live long in air.. And it doesn't spread through usual contact like touching, hugging...
It spreads through blood. For example, if you have a cut.. and he have a cut.. and his blood enters you.. then it will get into you..
It also spreads if you make out with him..Through the semen and other sexual contact...
But you don't get AIDS through touching someone, talking or even breathing his air...Nor do you get it through toilet seats.
So don't make him an outcast~

that is rediculous. although AIDS might be scary it is not that contagious. unless you make out and/or sleep with him on a regular basis i wouldnt worry a whole lot. i mean, i probably wouldnt drink from him or share forks either, but by and large you wont be effected by regular friendly activity.
as far as the people in the neiborhood go, the have no reason to know...unless they are making out /sleeping with him, and even if that were the case that would be his information to tell, not yours

Be his friend, but more careful when you have an open wound on your body. Don't let him know you afraid of him, he might be very sad. You should tell him before notify sb.

Aids is not transmitted thru the air or by touch...You only get it when u have sex with person who have aids or when u have come into contact with the blood of the person who have Aids.

No, don't tell the neighbors. Yes, be his friend. Don't be caught up in political correctness, any of his bodily fluids may have the virus, including sweat, mucus, and saliva. Don't touch him and if he has a cold wear a mask. I know this is sort of being too cautious, but it's your life we are talking about. If he is offended, move on.

Of course yes. Why, are you not a real friend? Does friendship change when someone acquire AIDS? Please don't judge your friend because I bet he didn't mean to have it. He needs friends and families to be by his side specially now. You won't acquire AIDS unless you have sexual intercourse with him or you undergo blood transfusion using the blood of a PLWA.

soccer,
No dude...don't ostracise this guy in his own community. Most folks still don't get that the only way you can get HIV is:
1. unprotected sex with a carrier,
2. sharing a needle/syringe (IV drug use) with a carrier,
3. you somehow coming in contact with his blood, and the splatter getting in your mouth, nose or eyes.
Though retroviral drugs have extended the lifespan with those with the virus, they will eventually die of the disease or complications resulting from it. If he ever needed friends around him, it's now.
