Here is an activity that really works, as silly as it sounds. Sit knee-to-knee facing someone. Stare at each other WITHOUT blinking for as long as you can. The first to blink loses. This really works to improve concentration for some reason. I used this activity with children and the elderly with measurable results. Also, give Zen mediatation a serious exploration. The more that you can "let go" of, the more aware you can be. Poor concentration is oftentimes a problem of gripping onto too much, too much of what is unneccesary. RN

Do something that interests you for a few minutes (1-5 min), then get back to work.
Block all thoughts about anything else while you focus on your current work.
Chewing gum helps some people, but I find that listening to soft rock, or classical music in the background is soothing and helps with concentration.
Pretty much you just need to ask yourself, "if my task important to me? am I going to give it 100%?" If your answer is yes, you will work harder and concentrate.
