Was anyone in Cleveland on Saturday to watch the MAC tournament? Reactions?

What do you think about Miami?

Should Akron have gotten an invite to the NCAA tournament, or at least the NIT?

Heck yeah, 26-7 record with 4 of those losses being by 3 points or less. They lost to Miami on a last shot.
They lost to Nevada who is in the tourney by 2 pts.
How does Stanford get in with a 18-12 record compared to a 26-7 record?!?!
It's such a joke. It's all about $$$ and the bigger schools getting in vs the smaller Mid Majors.

I was at the game on Saturday... it was really amazing. Miami wasn't winning since very early in the first half. I had pretty much given up on my Redhawks the second half because most of the time they couldn't make any shots at all (I'm pretty sure they didn't score in the first 5 minutes of the second half) and Akron was ahead by at least 10... i was wishing I had worn my Akron Law School t-shirt instead of my Miami shirt. They started to come back and I was happy that they were at least going to make a good showing before losing, but I was still sure they were going to lose. They got the ball with 30 seconds left and took it down and missed the shot (again) and they were down by 2 and Akron grabbed the ball and Miami fouled, so they went down for a foul shot... They ran it back up the court and passed and I was still sure that they would miss (they had missed all the others, why not this one) and it went in and I was clapping and screaming, but it wasn't until my dad said "Miami wins!" that I realized that it was a 3 pointer and we actually won. Then we all ran around and celebrated, then we waited another 10 minutes which was just rediculous... and they decided to do the .6 second thing (I still fail to understand why we added time after the clock started late... shouldn't they take .6 away... doesn't matter, we won anyway) and that was silly too, but they take a minute to get players on the court, then Akron wants a time out!! Honestly, 10 minutes wasn't enough? Then they threw it out of bounds anyway. Then there was this confused silence where we waited to find out if that counted, and they announced the final score... then we got to celebrate again... it was really kinda funny. Of course I'm thrilled Miami won and I was really happy I decided to go and watch. (I hate basketball, but I decided to go because I graduated last year and haven't had the opporutnity to go back, so I decided to go see the team play since they were nearby). I was really surprised though after they played most of the game down by 10... I didn't think they were really that good... and I still don't think they really were... Akron got stupid and let us back in the game... even when we made the foul for the last foul shot of the game, Akron's players were jumping up and down like they'd already won... there was still a lot of time left for a basketball game... they jumped the gun and got stupid, so they lost.

I was disappointed for Akron... they have a lot of really good players (all of Lebron's friends), so they could probably have gone farther in the tournament than Miami... but then again, they lost to Miami... it wasn't by a lot, but I think they needed to be more disciplined than they were. I still would have liked to see them in the NCAA tournament.

One thing I don't understand though... Everyone's all talking about how Akron deserves a spot, but Toledo was the 1 seed in the MAC tournament... I know they lost before the last round... but if Akron was better, shouldn't Akron have been the 1 seed? I guess I just don't understand basketball. And Miami's stuck playing in Washington?? No one's going to that... it's like a home game for Oregon... that's not fair. And how is Washington in the Midwest?? Sorry, just slightly angry because I could have gone to watch if they were in Columbus... but Spokane???

Anyway, Miami's awesome... and Akron deserved a shot at the NCAA... and it's completely rediculous that they didn't even get an invite to the NIT.

Wasn't there.
Glad to see the Redhawks make the dance
Akron was not worthy of an NCAA bid.
