ignore it and leave him alone. he'll cry himself to sleep. if you nurture the kid everytime he cries for no reason he'll get too dependent and can grow up spoiled. however make sure you are absolutely certain hes not sick or running a fever.
let me clarify this a bit more since people seem to jump the gun in saying this is a bad answer. its saying oh well the baby is going to be ok. its more or less if you know everything is alright and there is no reason for the baby to be crying its simply seeking attention. if you give the child too much attention it can be bad for the kid mentally growing up. they always show in movies the joke of the kid thats like 15 and still breast feeds. more or less that is an exaggerated version of what can be expected if you nurture your kid everytime all he wants is attention. sure you should give your kid lots of loving attention but at the same time too much can give the kid undesirable aspects. he might grow up too attatched or grow up with subconcious feelings or misconceptions. this technique is something my mother used on me, my sister, and my brother and i am pleased to inform that we are all indeed...alright.

Do you think he could be teething? If so, try giving him some INFANT TYLENOL...I know you wouldn't listen to the goof that said to give tylenol pm...is he pulling on his ears or showed any signs of a possible ear infection? (pulling on his ears, not taking a bottle well, cries when laying flat...etc), if it seems that he might have an ear infection, try propping his crib matress up slightly w/ a pillow (not too high), just enough that he's not laying flat. If none of those are the problem, he may have had a bad dream or something...just try to stay calm, don't stress out and talk to him in a soothing voice and either rock him or walk around with him...I hope he settles down soon...but if he doesn't stop within an hour or more, you may need to take him to get checked out and make sure nothing serious is going on...good luck!

that is what's accepted as colic (defined as crying 3 or extra hours in preserving with day for 3 or extra days a week for 3 weeks in a row). there is many times no longer something you could do to make it end, yet you could try learning colicky toddlers on-line or in books and examine out the data that are reported there. otherwise, the purely ingredient you could do is wait it out, and with somewhat of luck discover some convenience contained in the actual shown actuality that it in many situations wears off round 3 months. you also can try calling in some reinforcements -- pals, relations, associates, experienced sitters, etc -- merely to take over different conserving, rocking, etc so that you'll lie down or get out of the homestead for an hour or 2. you want your sanity or you is actual no longer able to care on your infant. sturdy luck!

Try to calm down and don't react out of frustration. He senses your tension. Try putting ear plugs. Then when you hold him, you won't be tensing up from the noise. While you are calmer, you can do the things that usually work like rocking or speaking softly to him. Even if this does not work right away, you will feel better by being calmer.

Try laying down with him, walk him around, hold him, rock him, gas drops, infant tylenol (do not give him a tylenol PM as recommended by a previous answer!! yikes!), teething tablets or gel, play soft music for him, sing to him, rub his belly, take him for a drive. I am sorry he is so miserable. Poor guy.
