HEY, just wanna ask.. What's the effect of light in bacterial growth???.. Please HELP me.. and Give me the link (If possible) :P thanks thanks!!

strong sunlight destroys bacteria as it causes serious mutations which the bacterial dna repair mechanisms cannot deal with... a friend of mine was working on the effects of uv light on waterborne pathogens and showed that the surface on water was all but sterile due to uv light

It would definatley depend on the bacteria, there are many forms that live in may different places. Some do not require any light at all.

Depends upon the wavelength of light. Ultraviolet wavelength is bacteriostatic to certain bacteria.

It kills the majority of them. Thats why there are UV lights installed in hospitals. A few might thrive in it, particaularly cyanobacters.
