Hi I have an 02 1.6lx Focus. Recently when travelling at high speed i.e. 70mph, occasionally the speedometer needle will drop back down the 0mph for a few seconds and then moves back up to the correct speed. There is no other problems with power, etc. I was just wondering if this is anything major or easily rectified, also is it something to be concerned about. Any help would be gratefully appreciated

If it's a new car, take it to the dealer for repair.

You know and I know that there is a 1.6 Focus. Looks like they Yanks are with us again!

If everything else is okay, then it's not something to be worried about - it's probably just a fractionally loose connection. If and when it starts to play up more frequently or the other instruments begin to play silly b*ggers, then you might want it looked at.

unfortunutly all car speedo drivers are all now electronic, the problem is probably coming from the tranducer that sits in the gearbox, i would suggest you do get it fixed asap coz it might go all together and you wont know what speed your doing, you might even get speeding tickets and not even know about it, hope this helps from gary (oswestry)
