you have to download some sort of alternate program to run it through there or you can just right click it and open it with firefox. either way you cant just straight up run it off your computer because the flash player you downloaded only runs off of firefox/ie

Hi,
You can't save a video like this....It only saves some portion of the web page only.....These are some steps that will surely help you to save videos as much as you want=

To download videos from Yahoo, YouTube and any other site :
Get Firefox from http://www.mozilla.com/en-us/firefox/...
And then install the Download Helper extension from https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/3006/...
It works great for me.

Since the videos are in the .flv format you need to get a flv player. You can get a very good one (and completely free ) here http://www.download.com/flv-player/3000-...

It is for sure going to work,so Have Fun!!!

you have to solve this problem systematically.

1) goto My Computer

2) click Tools>Folder Options

3) select tab View>UNCHECK box Hide extensions for known file types.

4) goto the folder where you saved the unplayable video file

5) note the extension. usually .mpg, .flv, .wmv etc. the three alphabets behind denotes which player is most suitable to open the file.

6) open Internet Explorer / Mozilla Firefox (whichever you prefer)

7) goto http://www.filext.com

8) type the file extension into the seach box. (eg. .wmv)

9) the page will display all kinds of information. sift through and search mainly for video file information or video data. it will also give you programs that can play such data formats.

10) goto yahoo seach and search for the programs and download them, install them and you are basically good to go to watch what you have downloaded from Firefox
