Is it normal? No. Is it common? Yes. There is a variety of reasons a woman can experience bleeding during early pregnancy. Not all of them signal a problem or a pending miscarriage. Some women bleed (or spot) throughout their entire pregnancy and carry their baby to full-term with no problems. The reasons can vary but one of the reasons for bleeding early in pregnancy is low-lying placenta or placenta previa. You can Google these things on the Internet. This is a condition where the placenta is completely or partially covering the cervix and it can cause some bleeding issues. When your wife is experiencing bleeding she should immediately get to a place where she can rest. She should be resting as much as possible, her doctors may have already advised her of this. It is not always possible for a doctor to immediately determine why a woman is experiencing bleeding but the answer usually reveals itself over time. If you are concerned over miscarriage, try not to be unless there is a history of that with your wife. Do some research online and in pregnancy books - there are lots of reasons for what she's experiencing and not all of them are bad! Just tell her to take it easy and get lots of rest, drink lots of water and think POSITIVE thoughts!!!!! All the best!!

Ok, I am 8 weeks pregnant and i had the same thing. The important thing is how much?? is it free flow or only when, er wipeing down there. Also how long for? I had slight bleeding for about 8 days and everything is still fine. Continue to check in with your doctor though. It is probably to early to see your baby in the uterus yet, but if all the pregnancy signals are still there and continuing it may be a sign that things might be alright. Good luck.

From what I understand, there shouldn't be any bleeding during pregnancy at all. However, I have heard of cases where women get their period when they're pregnant, but that's extremely rare. Maybe you and your wife should get a second opinion, just to be on the safe side. Sorry, I wish I could help more, but I'm not a medical expert! Good luck, though.

that may not generic if it lasts for better than an afternoon or so. you may make an appointment to verify your wellbeing care provider. in case you go the the ER they're going to in all probability in basic terms provide you meds to help the miscarriage (a minimum of that's what they did for my pal). sturdy success.
