i'm using a fender acoustic electric guitar, and im on the market to look for gear that would better my sound. i read somewhere that the pod 2.0 by line 6 will be great. can anybody help me out?

Forget the outboard effects.

I assume that by "sounding better" you mean that you want it to sound more acoustic, then the best option is to change the piezo pickup that is located under the bridge saddle. A high quality pickup will set you back about $80. If that still doesn't do it for you then I would replace the EQ.

Keep in mind that if a good signal isn't transferred from guitar to amp then no amount of effects will make it sound better.

I am using a Marshall AS100D acoustic amp which sounds grrrreat! I like it a lot better than my Fender Acoustasonic; its more versatile and realistic i think...cool effects too!

As for the pick ups, I have an Ibanez cutaway with a Fishman Aura combo. You can blend it from straight aura with different adjustable configurations to straight pick-up and everything in between. I actually can't imagine getting a better sound than I'm getting now out of this rig.

I use electric strings, the pickup picks the sound up better, and they are easier on your fingers !!
