Im currently on a family plan with my dad and i want to get rid of that plan, and switch over to my own plan on nextel, but I don't want to pay for canceling my plan i only had for like 5 months.
Anyone know how sprint will handle this?

Really nothing you can do about the cancel fee. however you can look at it this way. pay the $175 in which you can make payments on most companies wont tell you that you can do that. or pay it in full. or add up what your paying now for the remaining months of your contract and see which way is cheaper.

Since the merger with Nextel they are allowing customers to switch from Sprint to nextel with out charging a canclation fee. Your father will have to call into sprint and put himself on his own plan. If the contract is in his name do a change of ownership first that way the nextel phone can be in your name.

Sprint will handle by sending you a bill for the cancellation fee.

They get you with those fees.
