Get a great big garbage bag. Put the garbage can in it. Then place the garbage bag in an even bigger garbage can.
Alternatively, pick it up and throw it away.

That's actually an interesting question. If it's a can provided by the trash company, call them to have them pick it up. If not, either find a dumpster to throw it in or break it up more and put it in a different trash can. :^)

Just toss it in a dumpster. If you don't have access to a dumpster I suppose you can clean it and break it down so it goes out with the new garbage can.

If it's plastic, put a sign on it saying "Please Don't Steal This".
If it's metal, maybe make yourself a composter. It'll eventually turn to rust. Check whether the zinc's good for edible plants and your health, first.
