Until we get to a point in this country where guilt or innocence is no longer decided by the size of a person's wallet or their high-priced lawyer's ability to make up convincing lies, how can we say that there is any true form of justice in this country?

There can never be true justice for all.at anytime. But this has nothing much to do with rich or poor. Rich persons fight agains each other in court. Not necessarily that the richer of the two contending parties win. The Govt. is the richest of all entities. It takes many people to court. The rich or the poor citizens cannot fight the Govt. in court. So, it all depends on the judge, the jury, the police, the law and the lawyers.

Preach on brother. If a judge were fair, he would
require the same level of representation for all
defendants. If an appointed attorney is good
enough for the indigent, he/she is good enough
for those able to pay. But, getting this type legislation
through Congress would be practically impossible
since 80% have a law degree and the other 20%
are married to one.

As much as I hate the ACLU, they might be the
only ones able to get any thing done about this.

While we are on the subject...those without money
to pay are quick to be sentenced and quickly popped
in jail. Those with the high-priced lawyers and those
with bail money string their trial out for years, then
end up with a slap on the wrist.

You are right, what is supposed to be set up to
make sure people get justice, is actually set up
so that people will get injustice.

More and more countries have adopted capitalism and the free market system because they consider it the best way to improve the lives of their people. With the free market economy, usually come the rule of law and political democracy albeit ever so slowly (China, Vietnam and before those, South Korea, Taiwan, Singapore...)

Capitalism has its ills but do not think for a minute that socialism is the answer. Russia, China and Vietnam have found out socialism does not work, even in bringing social justice and are reversing it big time.

That was what the Liberation of Freedom back in world war two was all about in planet of apes.
Today we still repeat the same blunders and slip-ups with human errors until we all got caught by our creator in Iraq with living examples of punishment and destruction of human errors in planet of apes.
Ever wonder when will we ever learn to correct the blunders and slip-ups with human errors in planet of apes?
Ever wonder how can we correct the blunders when we don't have the instruction manual in planet of apes?
So we better start searching for the missing x-files and follow the instruction manual in planet of apes.
Look around at the mess we created doing things at own whims and fancy until we even kick the butts of our own children with them all surviving and running on batteries in planet of apes.

We really can't now, can we?! Very frustrating. I can't even remember the last time a rich man was put to death...and I know that some have done things deserving that punishment.

Read this story, it will blow your mind:

It's about a Dallas judge giving a poor black man a life sentence for getting caught with a joint, yet he lets a rich white KILLER walk free...disgusting.

We are at that point now. Costly defense did not keep Kenneth Lay and the other Enron conspirators out of prison.
