i am a 17 year old girl in iran .next year i have an enetering exam for university so i have to study alot of other subjests like persian physics chemistry biology math and unfortunately arabic too. anyway so you see there are a lot to study and not too much time to learn english. but thanks yahoo answers help me because in this site i can learn much from you.i dont have enough time to go to english class so in your opinion how can i improve my english just in home ?(i have to mention that sometimes i watch american movies by satelite and my listening is nearly good my problem is speaking)

i have to agree with the above answerers. i teach english and this is what i tell my students. talk to yourself in english. think in english. repeat the sentences you read or hear. things like these really help. it would be much better if you found someone else to do these with. co-education is the best. i'm sure you have friends at school who are learning english and would be interested to work on their speaking abilities. you need to use every opportunity. hope it all works out for you and good luck with your konkoor!!!!

Whenever you watch the movies, try repeating phrases that you like. When you're online, say the text aloud. It'd be good if you have friends who are learning English so that you could practice with them.

Try going to a chat room that has voice chat and find someone to listen to you and correct your grammar. I'M sure you can find people every once in a while willing to accommodate you.

There are books on cd and I suppose lessons on cd as well. Good luck.
