Dhoni is a great wicket-keepr, but I'm sorry to disappoint all of the Indians, but he has only been playing International Cricket for a little while. Gilchrist is the greatest, because he is proven over a long period of time. I would go as far as saying that he is the best one-day player ever. Dhoni may become better than Gilchrist, but he's still got some work to go. As for Boucher, he's a great wicket-keeper, but his batting skills do not compare to the previous two. Sangakarra is also great, but needs to add consistency and big scores against top teams to his records, nobody takes Bangladesh seriously.
I would consider the second best wicket-keeper batsman to be Andy Flower of Zimbabwe.

Dude... Gilchrist by far. That guy comes in at no. 7 when australia are playing like crap, and turns the entire game around witha fast century. Behind the stumps he's amazing and rarely drops a catch. There's also the fact that he got an offer from the Red Sox baseball Team, and he's 36! That shows that even at an old age, he hasn't lost his touch. The Red Sox Selectors can't be bad, they're a top team. Don't ask this question again cause I won't be able to resist an answer.

Gilchrist, undoubtedly has no match from every point of view . He faces world fastest Bet Lee, very difficult to field against behind the stump particularly when the bowl is swinging fast diagonally at speed of 161.1 km per hour. Dhoni cannot do so against four fast bowlers at a time in a match. Moreover, his batting potential is much better from technique, speed & high scoring rate point of view. Dhoni is a hitter like Tendulkar ( Endulkar now ) having no technique.

According to the stats Gilchrist is the best, but personally I think Boucher is a very close second. Dhoni is at the beginning of his career and therefore you can't really compare him with these two. He certainly got the potential to be great, but at the moment I think he still needs to prove himself. Who knows maybe he can do it in the world cup.

Boucher is my choice as both Dhoni and Gillie are power players and Boucher plays a major role in the middle order. Dhoni and Gillie are match winners (no doubt), but Boucher is match turner.
