Structurally sound, needs some updating, but nothing major, paint, tiles and easy stuff. But my husband says it doesn't have a big enough yard. Aside from the size of the yard the house is perfect for our needs, and the price is right for the market. Should I hold my ground, or should we find something with less rooms for a bigger yard. We have 6 kids and the only places we have found with good size yards don't have the room for 6 kids. So what do you do? Do you buy the one with enough room for your family, or do you cram 3kids to a room so that you can have a big yard?

The house is 2500 sq feet, the yard is maybe 15 by ten in back and in front 15 by 5 feet. The kids are twin 4 yr olds, 8, 10, 14, 16. three girls, three boys

I agree, as kids get older they want to "spend time with their friends" and not at home with mom and dad. Plus with a slightly smaller yard thats less upkeep for you.

The most important thing is giving the kids there own space i mean really how many times a day do us moms want to pull our hair out anyway.... do you really want to antagonize the situation?

sorry just my opinon. I say think about how long the kids are gonig to be in the house. i mean is one 17 if so is he or she going to college soon? the sooner the kids are out of the house would make a huge diffrrence. when the kids leave do you want a study? an office? a gym? Or do you just want to rotate the children around so the oldest has a room of their own...

I say go for it love. i mean even a small yard is a yard and in the days of condo's and apartments its better then one of those nasty parks!

DO IT! :)

You don't mention the size of the yard or if your kids are used to playing in one. If you agree with your husband on the yards size (but won't admit it lolol) I'd go with his decision. Otherwise keep looking for the right house with large yard. Maybe place an ad in your local newspaper might hurry things along too. Oh, another thing....try and imagine having 6 kids in the house and under foot all day, every day. I know what I'd prefer.

If you live in a cloder place, better buy this house, and you would only use the yard for 2-3 months in a year.

It depends on whether that house is in the area with good schools for your kids. Also, consider how easy it will be for you to sell this house in a future if for some reason the need will arise to sell it.

Big yards are overrated. How many kids play in their own yards? Go for it.
