Waka you are reading too much into my question, geez what are you getting so defensive for?

The reason I asked this question is because I grew up in a semi poor home and I would not want it any other way because growing up poor you have more challenges ahead of you that you have to tackle so I think it has made me a better person. That was all I meant by it.

I posted the question in Physcology to see what people would THINK about the two scenarios, (waka)

Well, I WAS born into a poor family....financially speaking....so I pick that one.

I firmly believe that God places us where he does, so that we can learn particular things from those circumstances in our lives.

Thus, becoming better people and better souls....more worthy of His kingdom.

either of the two u were born w/ is not an assurance that ur life today would have turned the same as it is.. being born in either of them would not necessarily determine who u are. life is full of unexpected events everyday..the only thing permanent is CHANGE so that being born poor does'nt mean you'll die poor; the same as being born wealthy does'nt mean you'll die wealthy. you see, no matter what we have today,in a flash it can be nothing tomorrow. Life is a wheel, sometimes ur up, sometimes ur down!

i dare not choose any of the two but rather accept what status I am at the time I was born & choose to make the best resources to either improve (for being poor) or maintain (being wealthy) coz both ways no one can tell if one or the other could have made u a better person today.

Regardless of what do you really mean by being a "better person", everything in our life is not being measured by being poor or wealthy but rather its how an individual perceives life.. this way, only you yourself can make it better or not.

Well I was born into a well off family who became very poor and then became well off again. I really don't think it was the money either way that mattered, I just think I should have been given more responsibly. I would have hated it as a kid, but since my mom did everything (made me breakfast daily, cleaned my room, etc) I became very lazy. We lived on a farm for a few years, and there I had tons of chores, so I wish we could have stayed on the farm so I could have continued the harder but simpler lifestyle.

that's a hard one i was born into a very poor family...i would like to see if my life would be any different if i was born onto a wealthy one, but then again I'm the type of person i am because of the life I've lived thus far... so i guess my answer would be to a poor family...
