I like kaka better.
But I think Ballack is the better footballer. He is both left and right footed which makes him an ideal crosser and volley man. He is tall and can head balls before his opponents. Also he can handle any position on the field as a winger, defender, or attacker.
I really have to give him more praise even if his team lost WC 2006 0-2 Italy. He was able to lead his team VERY far. Team captain is not an easy job when the whole country is counting on you. To perform very well even when in so much pressure is very cool of him. Not many can stand it. If the team didn't panic in the last minutes of the game he might have forced a penalty in the WC and beat Italy to fight the French.

I think overall Kaka is better because he's won all the trophies a world class player dreams of, while Ballack still has to win the world cup and the champions league.

Obviously Kaka is the more talented of the two footballers, he is quicker, more creative and more like to turn a game as he did against Celtic. Ballack on the other hand is probably more reliable and less likely to be in and out of the game.
Personally the most complete player in the world is Steven Gerrard.

From what I have seen from both Footballers it`s got to be Kaka, as ballack seems to be suffering from the lumpy syndrome. Congratulations on becoming a top contributor.

Kaka is a tallented player but only truely performs well when he has other great players around him. Ballack however is a tallisman he can lead the midfield line and command a game.
