Talk with your mom and a helpful, trained job counselor if you can find one at a local social organization. You should work from your interest areas, if possible. Given your general information, best bet seems to be nearby neighborhood childcare ("babysitting") or other around-the-house helping. Try to get jobs at times that your mom approves (e.g., after school, rather than late into the night) and near enoough so you can make safe arrangements to get home (or get help from home with problems, if they arise, by phoning). Tip: keep a record of each job, and treat them as assignments with learning goals. For example, to improve your skills at getting along with peoplle in different work situations. These jobs will pay ou something (not huge amounts of money, all of a sudden, but something) and, if you follow the skill-building goals, will improve your skills, so that when you start to do other kinds of part-time work (in your late teens) you will be able to claim ability and experience in some areas that are more broadly applicable.

Well you can do what I did. I started my own babysitting service when I was 13 and now I have a domestic help business. I took babysitting courses (Cpr/First Aid Certified), babysat for my parents friends for free so that they could be references (make a "resume", try Yahoo Hotjobs), you can advertise your services online, put up flyer's in grocery stores(you know when you first walk in the door all the "free ads" but just make up a flyer on your computer and tape it there). Let me tell you that babysitting is a great way to make money. The more experience you have, the more money you get, and than maybe you can be a nanny in High School and make 12/hr. min.(depend on where you live). You could also expand and offer cleaning services. Hope this helps and if you have any questions feel free to email me. Thanks

hey girl,
trust me mum's are always like that! but if you dont start at the bottom of the ladder then you'll end up like me when you're 20! unemployed because of the lack of slavery experience.
it's the way the world works..but there's nothing saying you cant make a change!
your age is ripe to begin something brilliant like getting training in childcare and working in the field!

nicely, i think i might could ask you.. while is it no longer suited to a mom with their son? i do no longer think of there is any concern with giving my son a shower on the age of 6. If he's no longer abusive then there could be no concern. i understand that your line of artwork makes you extra careful than maximum, yet any generic, emotionally wholesome father/guy shouldn't do or sense something incorrect, so for this reason that is not beside the point. i think of by technique of 10 years previous a baby could have not any reason to be nude in front of the two parent till it relatively is mandatory. this is around the age babies start up starting to be extra conscious and want their privateness besides.

If your in the U.S, it might be hard for you to get a legal job. I think they only start giving out working papers at 16 because of child labor laws and such.
Anyway, you can consider babysitting, or selling girl scouts cookies (anything really) door to door.
You can volunteer at various things like youth centers, or the hospital (candystripper)
But really you should concentrate on your studies for 2 or 3 more years. Believe me your only a teen once, enjoy it!

To the idiot above (you know who you are!):
hardly the appropriate advice you should be giving a 14 yr old! Shame on you! Jerk!

You're a little too young for a job, but you can do volunteer work @ a nursing home or a hospital so that you can build a resume.
