Before you start accusing me of perversion, let me tell you that I was asked to do this for my Sociology project. I've been reading a lotta stuff about the art vs porn debate and wondered if hentai could be one of the reasons why it still hasn't been 100% settled.

Good study project! Sociology does make a good view studying this subject since young adults and hentai fans often is growing more and more throughout ocidental societies.Ethical and Moral standards apart, those image galleries showing graphical works made by hentai artists do have degrees of details, intelectual imagination, significance, sexual debate embedded , and even political concepts (if symbols and flags are in background).

From what I've seen, it's all porn. The fact that it's animated doesn't mean that it's art, or, to put it better, that it's any more art than actual video is art (and I have seen some pornographic films that I'd say are truly works of art). Hentai has the same goal of non-hentai porn: it wants to get you off. I consider the two to be synonymous in what they are, although both have the capacity to be artistic.

Art has 3 main characteristics:
(1) Art is that which is made by man (not by nature) with the intention of stimulating the human senses as well as the human mind and or spirit.
(2) The term art implies some degree of aesthetic value, regardless of any practical value.
(3) The impetus for art is creativity.
Hence as Hentai More is (1) created by man with the idea of stimulating the viewer (2) it involves asthetics without any practical purpose (i.e. hentai more will not grow rice or produce computers) and (3) requires creativity ........... it is hence a type of ART ..... of course not everyone has to like all types of art .... different strokes for different people

If it bluntly aims to only just titilate and is not tastefully done... it's probably more pornographic than artistic.

interesting project.hmh it`s more likely to be categorized as pornography but on the other hand pornography is a form of art.
