Sometimes it may be necessary to have certain standard range of voice for certain occupation. If one does not have that one may find difficult to get promoted in the same job area. But if the voice is not very critical input to the job quality (e.g. Newsreading/ cpereing), one need not worry about the voice so long as people can understand what one says. With experience gathered, the skills developed and alertness, intelligence and innovative spirits applied in one's own job, one wikk get promotion/ pay raise even if it gets a little delayed. It is better to concentrate on the skills and qualities expected from one handling a particular job/ assignment/ function/ duty.

If your employer has a problem with your voice and you are denied a promotion because of it... this is harassment and discrimination. Depending on how far they take it, it is also creating a hostile work environment.Personally... if they had a problem with it.. I feel they should have just not hired you up front. It doesn't feel good when people prejudge you for such small things...
