I and my best friend (we are both males) are sitting on top of a four-story bed... then there was an earthquake... His part of bed went down, while mine remain standing. I was in a hurry to catch him. He was just staring and trying to reach my hands while he went down.

Your dream reveals the state of your unconscious. Let me try to help.

1. your best friend - is usually associated to your inner self, the animus.
2. you - the ego
3. bed - associated to comfort or rest
4. earthquake - change
5. bed went down - change
6. your bed's side remain standing - inner strength
7. catching him - your nurturing self

It means, you might be in a crossroad. You are aware of the danger and you are being careful, but taking the risk. You stay calm yet worried. Things are planned and you are ready for both the best and the worst.

I always interpret other people in dreams as a part of you. If this is your best friend, then it's a big part of you, a valued part. The bed would mean a comfortable, secure place in your life, and then the earthquake symbolizes something big shifting, making you feel unstable.

So, what's going on? Are you moving? Graduating from or leaving for school? Changing your outlook on something important to you like a relationship or a spiritual belief? Just be careful that whatever is changing and slipping away, you don't lose part of yourself with it. That's what your subconscious is afraid of.

Or maybe I'm totally off. ;)

Unlike some of the other dreams about natural disasters, earthquakes usually symbolize parts of the dreamer's physical reality rather than his emotional life. The earthquake in the dream may be representing financial difficulties, health issues, or any number of other problems that could occur in daily life. An experience that is "shaking" you up, and changing your daily life, could be creeping into your dream state and showing up as an earthquake

To dream of an earthquake, suggests that you are experiencing a major "shake-up" that is threatening your stability and foundation. The dream highlights you insecurity, fears and sense of helplessness. If you find cover from the quake, you will overcome these challenges. Fall/Falling:
As with most common dream themes, falling is an indication of insecurities, instabilities, and anxieties. You are feeling overwhelmed and out of control in some situation in your waking life. This may reflect the way you feel in your relationship or in your work environment. You have lost your foothold and can not hang on or keep up with the hustle and bustle of daily life.?When you fall, there is nothing that you can hold on to. You more or less are forced toward this downward motion without any control. This lost of control may parallel a waking situation in your life.

Loss:
(I referred your friend being uncaught to losing him) To dream that you lose something may mean that you really have misplaced something that you had not realized yet. It may also be a signal for you to clean out and reorganize your life. You have become overwhelmed and distracted with the hustle and bustle of day-to-day life.

On a symbolic note, losing things in your dream may signify lost opportunities, past relationships or forgotten aspects of yourself. Your personal associations to the thing you lose will clue you into the emotional meaning and interpretation of your dream.

I would say that you are both really close and very good friends and that you will always be there for each other, no matter what. You are very lucky to have such a close friend.
