In psychology and education, learning theories are attempts to describe how people learn, thereby helping us understand the inherently complex process of learning. There are basically three main perspectives in learning theories, Behaviorism, Cognitivism, and Constructivism.

I think the reasons are obvious why a teacher should understand the different theories of learning!

everyone learns different

at a different speed--some read---some learn better by explaning---or even a picture

we are individuals and in order to teach different people they have to use different methods so everyone in their class will understand it and learn it
