I know of Universal Studios, and DisneyLand is a bit outside LA... what are some other ones that have rides/shows with performers/attractions?

If you just want rides and minor shows, go to Magic Mountain. They have great roller coasters.
Knots berry farm is ok and has some shows, but I'd recommend Disneyland or Universal if you're looking for all three (rides, attractions, and shows)

as long as you're in Disneyland early December (in the past the x-mas trip journeys) you will discover short-er lines... use the FastPass gadget once you are able to to help on lines that are long (this is unfastened to all travellers) Magic Mountain is approximately 50-60 miles (plus or minus i don't be attentive to precisely) north of Anaheim off the I-5 throughway/interstate. Knott's Berry Farm is closer to Disneyland approximately 4-5 miles away so as that must be a logical end in case you're in the Anaheim section. Have in no way been to Legoland so i can not provide you any data on that one. And have not been to Seaworld or universal in lots of, some years this is tough to declare this far in enhance what rides may well be closed throughout your visit.

Great America (search for California one) It's not the one in Illinois.

there are also Raging Waters and Wild Rivers and other waterparks.
If you are going to San Diego area, Sea World, Legoland, and other parks are nearby...

disneyland is by far the best! but if you are looking for some faster rollercoasters, id suggest magic mountain. ive never been to knotts berry farm but i have only heard good things about it. and dont forget about raging waters! its a water park but the best one i have ever been to or heard about.

magic mountain is the best theme park here in the la area.
