If you are extremely smart you will be able to understand everything that the teacher's are telling you. And by doing so you will find that the need to study just isn't necessary. I've seen people like this and they make me sick lol

1. Listen to the teacher, even when they're talking to other people
2. Make really good notes, write them down twice if you need to.
3. Always read through and analyze questions. For those that are multiple choice try to eliminate two answers first(if possible).
4. If you don't understand something, ask.
5. If it just does not sound right to you challenge a teacher's explanation during her office hours if possible. Challenging a teacher constantly during class could be misintepreted. If you're wrong and it's something that you don't understand, it makes them eager to prove that they are right. If you were right and the teacher had it wrong you will have the respect of the teacher and the rest of the class. At least you will get a way better explanation.

TIPS
Treat the teacher like a friend. It is just human nature for teachers to give the benefit of doubt to students who are pleasant and not to those who are trouble makers.
You will still need to study or review a bit...but not as much

Warnings
NEVER waste a study period
If you still have the time, study for your test at home.
It is better to study than take a risk and fail your exams.
Unless you're an "A" student, be honest, you have to do SOME studying.

HOW TO IMPROVE YOUR GRADES
1. Arrive to class early with all the necessary stuff (book, pens, paper, homework). Crappy homework is better than none, so always turn in something, no matter how bad.
2. Sit near the front and look like your paying attention (maintain eye contact, nod, smile, etc.)
3. Try to ask a question once in a while. Even if it's stupid, the teacher will think you're trying.
4. Use spellcheck and follow formatting instructions. Sometimes teachers don't read the whole paper. If it looks nice and the beginning and end are decent, your mistakes won't stand out as much.

Tips
Appearances count. If you look interested and your homework looks neat, the teacher may not realize it's all surface and very little content.
Choose classes carefully. Are you right brained (English) or left (math/science)?

Warnings
Don't lie. You will probably get caught.

If you typically get A's then you know how to study, if you don't get A's then learn how to study. Once you learn how to study you will be fine. By learning how to study I mean you need to be honest with yourself. You need to study until you know all the material inside and out, don't stop studying because you "think" you know the material, really learn it. Many people go into exams without knowing everything, this is a mistake, and leaves room for error.

So basically, don't worry about, just study:)
