Lionel Messi is indeed the next superstar and his hattric in the last match is a case in point.he adds a variation & completion to the Barca attack which is already strengthened by the likes of ronnie, deco, larrson & eto.he has all the touches of a fine player.as for the national team,he's a fine replacement for the aging crespo & out of form aimar.
but i think saviola too will do very well for Argentina.

cheers & god bless:-)

To be honest i would say Javier Mascherano. Lionel messi is a teenager who got the skills to change any type of game to their own. This same circumstances was in England when wayne rooney started to play for England. The lateral difference between club and international level is affecting the younger kids very much. But a man who shows the courage to face the challenges in international and club level is the real super hero. In the same instance mascherano playing regardless club or inetrnational level is one of most wonderful thing to watch. But there may be questions on his current form which when he played for the westham utd. But as an emerging player there is not a chance to understimate mascherano. If the team wants a footballer like Zidane, them javier is the best or a Super hero like Beckham (no offence) it could be lionel messi.

Even though there is a lot of pressure on this young superstar, he has the potential to become the next maradona. So what if is young just as long as they are talented. Remember back in the days when ronaldo joined barca. only 19! and yet he scored many brilliant goals. wayne rooney same example. he cemented himself into the footballing world in the euro 2004
look at the highlights of him in the world cup.
amazing just hustling and bustling and moving in different directions it was just easy to fall in love with his style while he may have not scored many goals for barca he will in time when he matures
so lionel messi is set to not only become a superstar in argentina but all over the world

First of all he has to calm down, the media are all over him and there´s a lot of pressure on this kid. Let´s see, Argentina hasn´t won a world cup since 1986, they haven´t made it to a final since 1990, and they haven´t won a single championship (any cup at all) since 1993.
I am from Argentina and believe me, we´re starting to get a little anxious... so here´s the thing, all of this anxiety put on this kid´s shoulders can not lead anywhere good, and you can see it whenever he plays with Argentina´s jersey. He´s nervous, always in a hurry, and even though he is a truly amazing player, he´s not able to play freely on the field for he thinks it is his responsibility to win the match, when there are ten more players around him!!!
He´s a huge player, no doubt about it, but he´s still too young, he needs more character and maturity, time will give him that.

He's magical. Messi adds such a strength to Barca. He's an inspirational character. He's earn his place and he's got everything to gain now. He'll be the Argentine hero if he's not already =D

Could be. If they let him have fun on the field and if the referees protect him a little bit, probably. I'm worried about latin american refereeing in the next Copa America because referees there are so horribly bad (except for 2 or 3) that he won't get any protection. They're almost as bad as the english referees (I've said it all!).

But Messi is good in playacting, and that's great because he's going to need that in order to preserve his body from kicks and injuries.
