That although the pill is enough 99% of the time there's that 1% and that's enough to get pregnant. By using condoms in conjunction with the pill it's just a little bit safer.

if you're in a monogamous courting and are particular that neither of you've an STD (meaning get examined), you are able to flow without the condoms for sex if you're on the pill. besides the undeniable fact that, there continues to be an particularly slender threat of having pregnant on the pill, so a condom for more suitable protection isn't a nasty theory if a toddler is out of the question for you right this moment.

It will make up any unwanted pregnancy risks not covered by the pill. Also if she prescribed any kind of antibiotic it will make the pill ineffective, so condom use is a must.
What really gets to me is the fact that they have both been tested for std's and are fine now, but anybody knows that some std's lie dormant for weeks, months and even years.
If they were worried and self conscious enough to have tests, then why not continue to care for their bodies? It's the only one you get. Oh and baby formula and diapers are more costly than a 12 pack of condoms every week or so, that should help!

Well I think that the only person to decide that would be your friend. But like as you say she is an idiot! It doesn't hurt to be a little more cautious about these kind of situations. There is no birth control that is 100%. Something that is 99.9% is not good enough or better than being 100%. Just keep on insisting to her that it won't hurt to be a little more cautious about these situations. Many people just don't like using a condom because it doesn't feel the same. But the way I see it I rather be safe than sorry!!

people get pregnant everyday while on the pill. Also there are a lot of people running around the world that don't even know they have an STD. Sometimes AIDS takes years to show up on a test, or show symptoms. Take your friend to the free clinic, they have all kinds of free flyer's tell you all the reasons to always wear a condom.

Birth control pills dont always protect against pregnancy. Two of my friends got pregnant while on the pill and they took it every day just like your friend. Condoms can break and they dont always protect against pregnancy either but she has a much much much lower chance of having a baby if she combines the condom with the pill.
Don't tell your friend that her man might cheat on her though. The only thing that will accomplish is getting her mad at you.

The pill can fail. Many, many women have gotten pregnant while on the pill. Tell her that the pill is not 100% effective. Using a condom gives a second layer of protection against pregnancy

how does she know for sure that he doesnt have STDs?...just because he was tested & got the results doesnt mean he told her the truth & is STD free...& like everyone else said the pill doesnt work all the time & alot of women have gotten pregnant even when they got the shot which is supposed to be safer...& how does she know that he isnt cheating on her RIGHT now??...ask her if she really wants to end up getting pregnant or possibly contract an STD & have to deal with the consequences...a baby is NOT as easy to take care of as so many people make it look like...its hard work & stressful...im stressed out just BEING pregnant...tell her to watch maury or something lol...they always have stupid teens on there who are like pregnant & 13 or want a baby & only 11...

Well first of all, the birth control doesn't always work depending on the person. My best friend's mother got pregnant twice while on the pill without forgetting to take it and wasn't taking any other medications.
Secondly, HPV is running ramped and their is absolutely no way for a male to be tested to see if he carries the virus. And you can have numerous encounters with someone who has HPV before contracting it. HPV is contagious and can cause cervical cancer and in most cases is only found in a yearly pelvic exam.
