Alright, I know Halloween is forever away... but why not get an early start!!! alright, so I have this tradition thing going on where I've been a johnny Depp character for Halloween every year (Jack Sparrow last year, Willy Wonka the year before, etc etc....) and I guess Edward Scissorhands is next!! And I'm drawing blanks on how to do it.... My friend said to but on leather and wrap a ton of black belts around me, but I'm worried that'd look stupid! Also, I can't really have scissor hands cuz my school has the policy about not bringing weapons and all that jazz.... so maybe plastic Freddy Cruger hands????? i don't know........................ so if you've ever done an Edward Scissorhands costume, or have a good idea in the back of your head, please do not hesitate to respond!!!!! thanks!!!!!

I am kind of partial to the Once Upon a Time in Mexico character with the fake arm.... as for Scissorhands.... get black leather attire you don't mind roughing up. In the craft section of a walmart or any store really there will be grommet kits that you can easily punch through fabric.I suggest using that to make the costume portion, it will look better than belts- which would also weigh more. For the hands, black gloves, with thin strips of plexi-glass that has been painted silver, its sturdier than cardboard, but heavier. The costume shouldnt be too expensive and look around your town you may be able to find scraps of plexi- glass from store and manufacturers, also check with your art dept they may have left overs. If youre the artsy type, use papier mache strips, once they are dried they can easily be sewn onto black gloves with fishing tether, plus it;ll be cheaper than the plexi-glass, especially if you do not intend on using the costume again.
By the way, using my idea means you have to split any candy intake with me 70/30...I only like caramels... :)

Get a white dress shirt and cut it up with some cut up black pants. Powder your face white, add some eyeliner, and some fake scars. As for the "scissorhands" prtion of the costume, you could try looking for somthing similar to Wolverine (you know, the knife-like blades in his hands) from Xmen, which I'm sure can be fpund online or a costume store. Hope this helped!
