UU and UCC both perform gay marriages, as do Reform and Reconstruction Jews. Other denominations have individuals or congregations willing to do so, even if the denomination's governing body is officially against it. A fair number of Protestant denominations, like the UMC, are considering/arguing over whether to follow suit.
European Lutherans and allies bless gay unions.

United Church of Christ does! They've got over 5 million members, and they just joined with Cathedral of Hope, the largest gay and lesbian congregation in the world.

They recently aired a pro-gay TV commercial that made me cry. Several people in succession were reciting the old children's rhymn:

Here's the church
Here's the steeple,
Open the doors and
see ALL the people!

They have three awesome $1million pro-gay TV commercials that not even the gay LOGO channel would air because they trashed the homophobic churches. Go figure. You can see all three commercials at youtube.com under "united church of christ commercial". Their website is www.UCC.org

While I do not support their doctrines, Universalist Uniterians, Religious Science, and Metropolitan Community Church also performs gay marriages, as well as some Hindus and Buddhists, and of course Satanists and Wiccans. Vatican records also show that gay marriage was permitted in the catholic religion about 1500 years ago.

Oh yeah, and my ministry is also pro-gay.

Commitment ceremonies between same-sex partners have been going on since before Middle Eastern religions spread through Europe. Now that the world is becoming less controlled by the faith of a select few they are finally being recognized again.

Buddhism, Unitarian Universalism, liberal Christianity, Judaism, and Islam, all branches of Paganism (Wicca, etc.), and probably a dozen others that I'm not sure about.

How can gay marriage be out of control when it is not allowed in so many places?

I urge you to go to the website below. You can learn so much.

Unitarian Universalists tend to be a mix of really open-minded people from a whole host of religions, from Jews to Pagans, Christians to Atheists.

I don't know when gay marriages started, and I'm not sure what you mean by "how did it get out of control?"

Toastery makes a good point. A few minutes ago i saw this cartoon, with something along the lines of "so what if my sons in Iraq, and the world might be at war soon. As long as gays don't get married"

Makes u wonder.....

Yes, actually there's many religions that accept and approve of gay folk. You'd find that just about any Non-Abrahamic religion fits the bill. Pagans in particular are very accepting.

Try Unitarians.

However, the issue became an issue during the last presidential election when the republican party spun the issue to get the focus off the war. They used the issue to conservative christians to 'have' to vote for Bush on moral grounds rather than really questioning what has gone on in Iraq.

Yeah. Cross-culturally, homosexuality is not universally frowned upon. In some cultures, it's just a natural circumstance. It may be considered as a special emotion, or way of life, but it isn't bad.

Mine religion does. But mine's nothing you will find in a book. Its in my own heart and mind.
There is nothing out of control about it. There's many more critial things out of control in this world and people are worried about two guys or two women sharing responsiblities together.
