The only benefit of voting is that you are eligible to serve on juries. The politicians you vote for don't do what they say before elections once they get their. They are all in it for themselves and the few that mean well, cant get passed the 'good ole boys' as far as getting something accomplished for the good of the people.

Seems like all you hear on the news is the 2 parties bickering and are against each other. Unless their party comes up the issue, they badmouth it no matter how good it is. I only vote for the 3rd party; I don't care who it is or running, I just don't like the 2 party system who are always at each others throat. They cant agree on anything.

I don't vote because I don't want to be responsible for electing these yoyos who are selling this country down the drain.

Sadly nowadays there are few...so few I can't even name them. Why should people vote? That's a good question considering that the Electoral is what ultimately chooses now rather than actually the people. If you're not of one of the two major political parties your votes are actually divied up among the two major parties rather than actually going towards the votes of YOUR prefered candidate and either way YOU loose. So, why indeed should people vote since what we have to say falls on deaf ears anyway.

For presidential elections there is no pros for us to vote-there have been a few elections in the past where the popular candidate has not become president even though the citizens nominated him. For city, county, state decisions our votes are really paid attention to. It is important to vote in those elections because if you don't, then you can't complain about the issues and how they are handled from the city, county, state elections.

Because of the illusion of influence. It would be (more) depressing if the same outcomes occurred whether the individual voted or not? Voting is a mechanism by which the rich in society control the poor with the illusion of influence and control in results.

All modern societies are rigged games where resources determine what happens, production, consumption, and who lives, dies, succeeds or fails.

I can tell you why I vote, at least. I vote because I think it's right; because I dont' want the right taken from me; and because, if I don't like the results, I have the right to belly-ache ;-) If I don't vote, then I really don't have a leg to stand on.
