They do it because they are freaking Jack**ses. Not only are people dying to get those diamonds, people are also dying of hunger, sickness and a lot of other things.

Instead of buying a diamond necklace for hundreds of thousands of dollars, they could easily have save a lot of people by donating that money to some charity organization or doing something by themselves. Look at people like Oprah. She personally helps so many people and what happens, she inspires other people to help as well. And nobody has realized it, she just keeps on getting richer.

It is like what the Bible says, when you give, it comes back to you more than what you gave.
