I would put it in any local paper, or flyer's that they put in doors.

Reason being because it is the honest thing to do. If you do not get a response then you can keep it, and enjoy wearing it. Just by the fact that you asked this question I see you have a conscience and you would always feel a pang of guilt when you wear it.

I once lost my eye glasses in the park, I did have an older prescription of eye glasses at home. But I was extremely aggravated by the loss,as I would have to spend money to get a new pair. My daughter in law looked in the weekly flyer that comes to her house every week, looked in the lost and found section. Beleive it or not someone had put in a notice of finding a pair of eye glasses, with thier phone number. I went to see if they were mine, and they were. I was so happy you can't imagine.

You don't know what this piece of jewelry means to this person. It might be the only real jewelry she has, she might have received it as a gift, and it has sentimental value. It will mean so much to her if you do advertise. If you can't afford to advertise then if the person who it belongs to does call you then tell her you would like her to repay you only the money it cost to advertise.

However when you do advertise just write. Found, bracelet, and where you found it. Let her describe it to you, so that you will know she is the real owner.

If it is a knockoff the price isn't worth your time trying to find the owner. If you found it in a certain store or place where you can leave info - that would be a thought.
I see no reason why you couldn't just keep it. I don't think the police would have much interest in it. And I don't think people call the police looking for a piece of knock off jewelry.
I did a funny thing at Christmas, we want to buy a special person a tiffany bracelet for their birthday in May, so I asked Tiffany's if they ever ran sales. Well, answer was aaaa
noooo....can you tell I don't frequent there? I thought I was dumb for asking, but what if they did! An after Christmas sale would have been great!

if I found it on the street? I would put a free ad in the local paper. if nobody claimed it, I would turn it into the police, because im not a huge believer in finders-keepers. If I saw someone trying to SELL a knock off, but they were claiming it was real? I might report it to the betters business beaurea if they are a licensed store. Other than that.. theres not much the police can do.

Hold on to it, you put it in the paper, someone will claim it even if it is not theirs, look lets say you found it at school or in a store, let the front desk/customer service, a manager know. Tell them to contact you if someone reports one missing and keep an ear out. Do not tell others, and see what happens, If they lost one, you know they went to someone looking, and if it really is theirs, they went to the trouble to go back look and ask around, if that happens then return it, if it is longer than 6 mo. Consider it yours, but check with local laws, as to possession.
Don't give it to the police, If it was stolen that is one thing you do not want to be charged with possession of stolen property. If you found it is another. Who says they will ever give it back if no claim is made for it.

I would consider myself lucky and keep it, if it were a million dollars or something significant like that it would be different who is really gonna report a bracelet stolen to the police or read the paper to find it?

Where did you find it? If it's knock off, it can't be worth much.. I would turn it into the police/a lost and found.

I'd do my best to get it back to the owner; if I had honestly exhausted all the options and still couldn't locate the owner, then I'd probably sell it, since I don't wear bracelets.

If I found it lying outside on the ground I would probably keep it, if in a store or something I would turn it in.
