Do they just not want to be sued by the parents of the under age minors, for selling something that could encourage teens to have sex or have an eating disorder?
In other words, if the parents didn't know about the product would it bee safe healthwise?
I'd like to know because I'm thinking about buying something that says people under 18 can't take it, but I want to be sure its safe. Thanks.

You have hit the proverbial nail on the head; they don't want to be liable for advertising a product to minors.

Gee, if it says that it isn't safe to take it if you are too young, don't you think that they know because they make the stuff? You could be right about them getting sued, but I wouldn't take anything that would put my parents in such a place for my own selfish reasons. What if it isn't safe and you are hurt by it? You need to make a more mature decision, instead of the childish one your are making now. Labels are there for protecting the stupid.
