It's not 'the' proof. When last I looked there were 200+ known proofs of Pythagorean Theorem. Try typing 'pythagorean theorem' proof into a search engine and see how many hits you get. Then go study them.

Cut out 3 squares 5*5, 4*4 & 3*3 inches respectively. compare the area of the 5 inch sq with the addition of the other two areas.
U just became Pythagoras ( thank God - not Archimedes)
Want more proof. Type Pythagoras & search the web.

Draw a right traingle and measure the dimensions. THen put the values in the theorem and you would see that LHS=RHS.
