Gee, I know the points are made up and don't really matter- but you do have to work a little to get them in the first place.

I came off Paxil cold turkey. I said I was a week into it and I asked if anyone came off cold turkey and how long it took.

I got a buch of responses saying you are not supposed to come off cold turkey - which I have heard.

Someone suggested Xanax - how irresponsible is that? Unlike Paxil, which just has withdrawal, Xanax is actually addictive and has a withdrawal that I can only imagine is much worse than Paxil.

I am not getting back on the medication because I am handling this but I am just not happy about the whole withdrawal process.

So, if you have come off Paxil cold turkey - and if you didn't, good for you but know your information won't be helpful to me - then how long did it take before you got through the worst of it?

I myself quit Paxil cold turkey. I started noticing that it was "affecting" me, as a male. At any rate, for me personally, I felt fine for the first day or two. But not much more beyond that small time frame came the withdrawal. I wasn't on it a huge amount of time, maybe about 8 or 9 months. But personally, I was back to myself completely about two weeks later. Now, the worst of it had long happened. The worst for me was around 4-6 days after. From then it lessened, and it just took me the rest of the time just to get back into the swing of things, regulate my sleeping, just get back up to par. I hope this works out for you! Good luck!

Yes I have felt it a waste to ask questions sometimes.
As I have never taken paxil, I cannot answer that question. I do know that 'cold turkey' off of any med like paxil is not advised. Be careful of extreme changes in mood (&suicidal thoughts). Good luck, and be sure that someone knows that you are doing this (friend, spouse, whomever).

Asking a question is never wasted points. It is a contribution to this wonderful forum. The more questions people ask the more the forum is enriched. Even so called silly little questions can help to make the forum, fun and enjoyable.
