What I do is I look for sales, or wait till it goes on sale, or find a place that sells the same item or similar for a lower price, check online for coupons you can use online or print and use in the store, like today I printed a coupon for 15% off at JcPenneys and bought a shirt that was on sale for $9.99, you have to know your brands and your stores, know who sells what, and when they have sales, like american eagle here I know every 2 weeks items go on sale, and I can get shirts for like $4-$10, or shop on ebay you can get plenty of new clothes, name brand ones and reasonable prices often! Close out stores like marshalls and ross are great too! Sometimes you can find a great sweater or jeans that are really pricy for a great price! Or shop off season and stock up for the next year, like right now you can get GREAT deals on winter clothing for next winter, or at the end of summer stock up on summer clothes for the next summer, the more classic basic things that go out of style is a good deal. Basically dont just spend your money on something right off the bat, unless its the last one in your size int hat color in the most acessible way, research your away around items and get down to a price your willing to pay :]

cut corners
if you get a a fashion purse at an outlet or tjmax
just get cool shoes to compliment it
everything doesn't have to be expensive
shop at target walmart meijer - where ever you have close to you
you would be surprised it is how you look and not always the name on each item
So, pick out a signature purse (this would be one that everyone associates you with-make sure you love it) and then just accessories on your budget.
I am a purse and shoe person, so I switch just according to the season
Take it one step at a time, and buy your most favorite accessorie that will make you feel confident and proud.

My best friend is extreemly fashionable. She walks down the street.. and people stop her to ask where she got her clothes. The answer?
Goodwill... and Value village.. with a little Forever 21 and Wet Seal mixed in. Some walmart.. and alot of Target.
her coworkers fawn over her "cheap" clothes...
...and get this..
she works at ABERCROMBIE!
Clothes dont have to be expensive to be beautiful! The trick? dont give up. Search through the racks at value stores twice. Something you missed the first time might pop up the second time, and dont be afraid to ask the workers for help. they can point out things in your size and they can pinpoint styles you are looking for faster than you can search for them. Good luck!

i shop at walmart, i limit the ammount of new things i get, one new pair of shorts or capris per summer and one or two pairs of jeans per winter at best, then 3 or 4 tops for summer and one or two for winter, here in vegas we have lots more summer. a couple of pairs of socks for winter, one pair of winter shoes if i need it. a pair of new sandals or two in the summer, i wont need any this summer as i bought two new pair last summer and one pair of black dressier shoes since i had to go to a funeral last year. I could use a new purse this summer. my winter purse will still be good enough for next winter, i got a winter coat year before last and i will be ok with that one for a long time. I have fabric for a couple of skirts i want to make. you dont need fancy brand names. with high class brands they might be made a little better, but if you change styles a lot, why have something thats going to last forever if you really dont care much about it. even the classiest brands are made in malaysia or china, so thats not an issue. if you dont dress up a lot you dont need lots of fancy clothes. i have one dressy suit. you can also shop second hand shops, and yard sales, sometimes you can get great stuff for next to nothing. I have always lived at lower middle class to high poverty class level. Im not a party person so i dont need anything very fancy in my life, my furs all have 4 feet.

Listen, I'm a shopaholic, but I don't think it's good to spend a fortune on clothes and accessories...I would spend most money on a good bag or shoes....but if you can find inexpensive ones it's just as good...the expensive ones are just their name and that's it...I shop at Wetseal.com, forever21.com, stevemadden.com, i also love Charlotte Russe, Joyce Leslie, Papaya, Vigoss jeans are hot and cheap...the only thing that should matter is what you like and what you feel confident and sexy in...

i agree with the answer that said cut corners.
sometimes some stores offer sales and discounts on certain occasion. shop when they offer. otherwise, save. and keep the money until the offer comes. some stores offer discounts or gifts after you have spent a certain amount of money there (most probably on the same day). so get your friends and family to shop with you and get that discount and gifts. then you get what you want plus the saving that you want. good luck.

I feel that skirts tend to either look kind of trashy or cheap if they are tight and short, or they can be just the ordinary jean skirts that are not necessarily sexy.
