I am a lawyer but do not want to practice. I have experience with high level clientele. I do not like sitting at a desk all day or sitting in a cubicle. I am miserable in an overly corporate environment. I need a job with some freedom and that will use my creativity. I am great at brainstorming creative ideas whether for an event or for a business. I want to use these talents in a job I can enjoy!

yeah, try events planning..that'd be great. or specialize in special events, like weeding planning.

you could try network marketing, pretty hard but it involves a lot of people by building up your own network to market some stuff (real estate, health products, etc.).

or try education, my personal preference. put up a school, say an IT-related school or some school offering and specializing in short-term courses. teach microsoft office, pc networking and troubleshooting, adobe photoshop, autoCAD, etc.. you just need a few people to teach in to have your own school, then recruit some more when you're market is doing well.

good luck!

I would expect someone with your resources (okay I'm guilty of stereotyping your income) would be better served looking into owning a company. Probably not a franchise, but doing something yourself. Like you say, event planning might do the trick. In 'football' cities there are markets for concierges, and virtual assistants.

If you figure out something you're interested in, join a yahoo group of people that do it. Go back to a junior college and sign up for some classes towards a certificate in that area - not that you necessarily need the education, but that that qualifies you for work experience and internship programs. A chance to do what you think you want to before you 'buy' into it.

Good Luck
