i was thinking of giving her a body massage but i'm afraid of her varicous legs. i'm a student nurse and my teacher told us never to massage varicous legs because there are blood clots inside that vein that would turn into an emboli of massaged, i don't want that to happen

If she is fragile,....I can only picture that maybe she can't get out or her energy level is real good to handle a day out. So, IF this is the case, I'd spend the day with her. Take the day off if you have to.

Start out with a nice breakfast for her (yes start the day with her). Fix her hair up and help her get put together for the day. Make the whole day special.

If she can get out, maybe set an appt. to have her hair done and/or a manicure/pedicure. A not too expensive but, nice attentive gesture to have her pampered.

Either in or out,.......see a movie together. Since she is fragile, obviously a lot of walking sounds out of any plans.

Have a nice lunch or early supper with her out if possible. Something nice. I wouldn't recommend the big party deal since you want this day to be intimate for your feelings of her and sharing time with her.

Maybe to top things off you can get her a nice necklace if she likes such jewelry, and get one with an Angel on it. If you can't get in enscribed, maybe get it anyway and then have a special message from you to her to put on the back later.

Anyway; I guess it's all about a nice quality day, and plan it around and in relation to her ability to get out and handle activity or not.

Remeniscing could be real good too and just sharing with her and telling her about the times you remember her being there for you and why her place in your life has meant a great deal to you, and let her know so.

It's not really going to be anything you can buy her try to think of something you can do for her instead(from the heart ya know) I dont think she is as fragile as you think she is she is just trying to cope with the loss and its going to make her sad /nothing will be able to change that it will get better over time really it will// sometime both of you should sit and talk about it

WOW. You are very lucky to have such a mom. You better take care of her. I also think that you should take her out to lunch and do things that she likes with her. If she likes the beach, take her to the beach and watch the sunset or something.

Wish you all the best

Anything you do that will let her know that you think she is sooo special and wonderful will make it a great day for her, she's lucky to have you!

Moms just need to know that they're appreciated, that's all you have to do.

A manicure with your mom is cheap and good bonding and girly fun, and I bet she'd love that, then make her dinner she'll be so happy..
