I am due in between 7-12 days (depending on if you see the ultrasound or the doctor) The doctor said its a big big baby (most people dont believe I am only having one) and I just want to get it out! My cervix is softening, its in position and engaged, I have tried pineapple, sex, walking, Rasberry leaf tea, everything but castor oil! does anyone have any suggestions on how I can convince him to come out? I have been getting stomach cramps for about a week now, and I am over it

Keep up the things you are trying, but at the end of the day bub is not going to come until good and ready. If you are extremely uncomfortable and the due date comes and passes your doctor will talk to you about inducing the labour. They can do this with a gel that is put on the cervix or an oxytocin drip. Discuss these possibilities with your doctor but if you can wait it out then do. Good luck.

OK, here is what worked for me. And I apologize upfront for the graphic detail, but having a baby is graphic in nature.

It was the night before she was due, I had been dilated at a 3 and 70% effaced for 3 weeks. I also had cramps, those are contractions too small to hurt. They are helping with the effacement.

My husband and I were laying in bed watching Las Vegas and he was rubbing my nipples. Our doctor told us that doing that would stimulate my serotonin which in turn would stimulate my uterus.

15 minutes later, Aagghhh, my water broke. My daughter was born the next morning. I know it sounds weird, but I swear that's what did it. It's a much better tactic than drinking oil.

Best of luck and may it be quick.

Sounds like u are doing everything right that can possibly work,,,your baby will come when hes ready..when u want them to come out they dont, when u dont want them to come just yet they do...these little boogers know what there doing =)
My last pregnancy I too was begging for my baby to come out already,my uterus measured 40 weeks at 35 weeks and i tried walking, sex, lots of cleaning etc but nothing worked, just more pressure down there.i stayed 2 cms dialated for 2 straight weeks until the doctor admitted me at 41 weeks *which then the contractions started after they helped bring it on a little* my baby weighed 9.1lbs...so needless to say u are going to have an almost 9 lber or even bigger by the sound of things and probably wont go into the hospital until they induce u by 7-12 days or even longer...doctor wont admit u until u are at least 4 cms dialated...they will let your baby go to no longer usually 41 weeks...good luck and keep trying =)

when I was 8 days over due my midwife suggested I have a glass of wine before going to bed that night ( she assured me it would not damage the baby at all at this late stage, and I was willing to try anything!).
My midwife also gave me a herbal remedy called caulophyllum ( available from most health stores) You dissolve one of the pills in a bottle of water and keep sipping at it throughout the day, topping it up every now and then, the more water you add the stronger it gets (weird I know, seems like it should be the other way around)
Not sure whether it was the wine or the herbal remedy, but my waters broke the next morning!

Honey, I hate to tell you this, but even though some of these things 'seem' to work for some people, the baby is just going to come when he/she is good and ready! I have, however, heard that a good foot massage may send you in labor, because there are certain pressure points that can trigger it, but again, the baby would have to be ready. By the way, I've never heard of trying pineapple.

I'm in almost the same situation, along with all you have done im also going to try stimulating the nipples. and doing something really fun to distract you, then think of the one safe place, but place you dont want to go into labor at-like the mall or movies or something-and go there anyway. Irony has a way of playing into things. But dont dwell on it, it will make it worse. i know how you feel im due on the 27(ultrasound date) or the 1st of April(Doctor date) and im sooo ready!

Don't rush it! I know that you feel like it will never happen and your going to be pregnant for ever but your not and it will be over before you know it.Take the time you have left to pamper your self take a trip to the spa, Rest as mush as possible, and let people care for you because when your baby gets here its going to be all about him/her(which is great). You wont sleep much and there will be times when you don't have one moment for you.(not even for a hot shower). This your last week or so enjoy it and don't stress It will happen very soon. Good LUCK!

He'll come out when he's ready. There's nothing you can do to convince him otherwise. My daughter was stubborn. The doctors induced me when I was 8 days past my due date and she still didnt come out until 2 days later. They even had to manually break my water because she just didnt want to come out. She ended up being 10 days late. Shes 19 months now and still as stubborn as ever.

try massaging your ankles and the soft area behind them. This is a pressure point to the uterus. Also massage your feet for a long time. Another pressure point. Good luck. Hopefully the doctors are full of it and the baby isn't huge.
